How it works

From “what do we even have?” to fixed

It starts with a free, read-only health check of your HubSpot account. If you want to keep going, RimeGuard watches the workflows that matter and prepares fixes for you to approve.

1. The health check

Most teams can't say how much custom logic lives in their HubSpot account, or who wrote it. The health check answers that first.

1

You connect on HubSpot's own page

You click Connect, sign in to HubSpot as usual, and see exactly which permissions RimeGuard is asking for before you approve. We never see your HubSpot password.

2

RimeGuard reads your setup

Every workflow and its steps, including the code inside custom code steps, plus your properties, dropdown options, pipelines, stages and owners. It can include workflows that are switched off, if you'd like those checked too.

3

Everything is checked against your account and HubSpot's changes

Does every property the code uses still exist? Does every stage and owner a workflow points to? Is the code calling an API HubSpot is retiring? The full list is below.

4

You get a plain-English report, and we walk through it together

Each workflow is marked broken, at risk or healthy, with the reason, where the problem is (down to the step), and a suggested fix. We go through it with you on a short call.

What RimeGuard checks

Grouped by how each problem gets caught.

ProblemExampleHow it's caught
Found by scanning: read-only, nothing runs
A property was deleted or renamedCode writes to lead_region, which no longer existsProperty names in the code are compared with your account's current properties, with the closest match suggested
Something a workflow points to is goneA deleted pipeline stage, or an owner who leftIDs in each workflow are compared with your current pipelines and owners
An API HubSpot is retiringCode calls a v1 contacts endpoint, or still uses an old API keyAPI calls are matched against HubSpot's retirement timeline
Invalid dropdown valuesCode writes "Partner " when the option is "Partner"Values in the code are compared with each property's allowed options
Credentials pasted into codeAn access token in plain textA secrets scanner flags it. The report never shows the credential itself
Found by watching over time: read-only
A workflow quietly stopped doing its jobNew leads suddenly have no ownerKey numbers are checked daily against what's normal for your account
A sync went staleRecords an integration normally updates haven't changed in a weekWe track when those records last changed
Found by running: scripts we host for you
Crashes and errorsThe script exits with an errorEach run happens in an isolated sandbox that captures the result
Silent bad outputContact: undefined, blank columnsOutput is compared with the shape of a healthy run
Expired logins, rate limits, outagesHubSpot rejects the token, or says "too many requests"These are told apart from code bugs, so you get the right next step instead of a code change

2. Monitoring

After the health check, you choose which workflows and scripts matter most. RimeGuard checks them every day.

For the first few days it learns what normal looks like for your account: how many new contacts usually get an owner, how often a sync usually updates records. Obvious problems are flagged from day one. After that, you hear from us when something changes, with the likely cause and what we suggest doing about it.

Each month you get a short summary: what was caught, how early, and which HubSpot changes are coming next. It's the kind of thing you can forward to your boss.

3. Fixes, wherever the code lives

Code inside HubSpot workflows

A ready-to-paste fix, with its exact location

HubSpot doesn't let outside apps edit the code in custom code steps, so RimeGuard tells you which workflow and which step, shows the change line by line, and gives you the corrected code to paste in.

Scripts we host for you

Tested, then applied after you approve

The fix runs first in an isolated sandbox to confirm it works. You see what changed and the test result, and nothing goes live until you approve it.

Some suggested fixes are drafted with an AI model. They can be wrong, which is why every one is shown to you as a line-by-line change and none is applied without your approval. Passwords and tokens we detect are removed before any code is analyzed.

What RimeGuard can't see

We'd rather tell you now than have you find out later. Every report includes this list.

  • Zapier, Make and similar tools. Automations that live in those accounts aren't visible from HubSpot.
  • Apps from HubSpot's marketplace. Their code belongs to the vendor, so keeping it current is the vendor's job.
  • Logic that was wrong from day one. RimeGuard compares against "normal." If normal was always wrong, it can't tell.
  • Editing workflow code for you. HubSpot doesn't allow it, so you paste those fixes in yourself.

The health check is free and read-only. It shows what's broken, what's at risk and what to fix first.
